I noticed on reviews that most people were taking 25 mg of Atenolol, my Dr. has started me on 50 m?

No not high. It does go up to 100mg and there are also combination with a diuretic that's 50mg and 100mg. If you don't feel comfortable, talk with your doctor, but it is a very common dose.

I'm also taking 50mg of bp med with a different brand. My husband also started with the same dose. After his check up on the month of may, our doctor lower his dose to 25 mg.By the way, he hits the gym daily and eat fruits and vege.

That's not a high dosage, I take the max of 100mg.

I took 25 mg atenolol for yrs --then my Dr doubled it to 50 mgs--I have no energy--My hair is falling out and I feel that life is the pits since being put on 50 mgs atenolol-I was told by Dr that 50 is not that high, but it sure did a low energy number on me-
