I would recommend talking with your doctor. You probably shouldn't be changing this medication on you own. You need the expertise of a professional doctor. This is how people become addicted to drugs. The maximum dose of Xanax is 10mg a day. I would recommend talking with your doctor about trying Xanax Xr. That may help you. If not than try a different Benzodiazepine like Valium or Ativan maybe. The key is talking with your doctor who know about all the medications. Hope this helps. Good luck to you.
