how often should i take penicillin for a tooth infection because this is day 3 and i am still feeling severe pain, should i take it every 6,8,or12 hrs. Or should i go back to the er for a stronger medication or should i upgrade to 2 pencillin tablet also i have taken 3 percocet and still have pain.

The antibiotic should be taken every 8 hours, and keep your pain meds on schedule even if you feel like you don't need it yet. That way your pain doesn't have a chance to start back up, you probably need a root canal, you can take ibuprofen and acetaminophen at the same time such as take tylenol/vicodin at 8 and take ibuprofen or naproxen at 9, that's what my dentist does for me anyway and it works, I have had 4 root canals ( I have severe teeth grinding issues and my teeth constantly break or crack) Good luck I think toothaches are worse then having a baby with out an epidural)
