I started taking Apri 6 days ago to induce a period and still have not had one. If by the 7th day I haven't had a period what does this suggest? Why am I not having my period?
I missed my period last month and have taken 3 pregnancy tests and they are negative?

My pregnancy tests were, yes, all urine tests. I have had three babies and the urine tests have never failed before, but i guess there is always a first for everything right! I am 29 years old (geez, i hope it's not menopause) and am active, i ride road bikes frequently in the summer and run when i'm not biking. I have maintained the same healthy weight (140-145) for the last two years so i'm guessing i haven't had a body fat fall too low. What else.....i recently was an egg donor to a family member in December.

Missing a period can be caused by a number of things. Were your pregnancy tests all urine tests or were they blood tests too? Sometimes, some women do not test positive on a urine pregnancy test. It needs to be confirmed by a blood test. Sometimes there is not enough HCG to test positive in the urine. Missed periods can be due to many readons. Some women who lose a lot of body fat fall so low that their periods stop. Sometimes it is hormone changes. You do not say how old you are. Some women begin to have menopausal symptoms as early as late 20's early 30's-it is unusual but it does happen! You may need a few tests to find out what is wrong. You may just need a D&C to clear things up. It's really hard to say not knowing more of your background.

For whatever it's worth, when my wife got pregnant with our last child, she missed her period, and also tested negative numerous times. She saw the doctor, and he basically told her that she wasn't pregnant, and that she needs to get a grip on things. Sure enough, she was pregnant after all!

Did she go back to that Dr and introduce him to that child she "wasnt" pregnant with?

She very nicely let him know that she was in fact pregnant from before, and have since left that particular doctor, as not only was he wrong, he was also very condescending. He really was just a very nasty little old man.

Did you take hormones for the egg donation? Taking the hormones may have disrupted you own natural hormones.

I would guess the homones have disrupted your cycle. You might ask for a blood pregnancy test to be sure though. Like Jeff said-my sister- in -law never showed pregnant on a urine test both times she was pregnant. They had to confirm with a blood test.
