I just started taking gabapentin 300mg 2x daily is this a narcotic and will it help my severe leg... and neck pain

Hi denisey. Gabapentin is not a controlled substance. It has been prescribed for nerve pain. Depending on the source of your pain, will determine which medications should work best for you. I hope this medication works well for you. It may take a few weeks to feel the full effects of this medication.
