... of which escapes me although I do know it is a derivative of the drug Amiodarone. Apparently it is now available in the States under prescription and has few side effects. Do you know when this drug may available in Canada

Thanks for the name as I have not heard of the drug. I will discuss it with my cardiologist upon his return..interesting to note that he nor my family physician has suggested it..are you aware if it availble in Canada?
Multaq FDA approved July 2009 see http://www.drugs.com/multaq.html
Hi,
Thanks for providing the names of two drugs I had not heard of. I believe Kynapid seems to be the most promissing according to reseach I conducted over the internet. However I was unable to determine if Kynapid is used to prevent AF (long term daily dose?) or is it used only to treat AF once it occurs. The sites I contacted were also confusing about if and when Kynapid will be marketed.
Thanks again for your assistance.

Thanks for the information. The cardiologist who mentioned the drug is on holidays until late August and so I cannot get the name of the drug until then. However I do know that the name sounds like amiodarone as it is apparently a derivative of this drug and acts in the same way without bad side effects.
