With the recent establishment of Utilization Review in California, I was denied Actiq for breakthrough pain management, in part, as stated by the UR doctor, because it is labeled for "cancer" patients. California UR uses ACOEM as its source for such decision making. ACOEM is now stating that use of Actiq for CRPS/RSD breakthrough pain is indicated. Is there any other literature/trial/research available that confirms this that I can use in a rebuttle to UR's decision to DC my Actiq? It's the only medication that has helped with the "burning" pain associated with RSD
