I have some major anxiety issues and was wondering what are some good medicattions for this?

Hello ezekiel42. Not certain what you've already tried in the past. SSRI(s) do a fairly good job in regards to anxiety. And not knowing what your current medications I can't really suggest this or that because as you know, drug families do interact. Theres the Benzodiazepines, lots of them to choose from but because of thier being more and more abused, as well as to thier addictive nature, many doctors are more and more hesitant to do so. Theres the SSRI(s) Such as Zoloft, that do a fairly good job in regards to anxiety. Best ask your prescribing physician, talk with her/him, they know your case history, diagnosis. Dear ezekiel42,
I completely understand where you are. I was in the same boat. I was on something for depression, but was still having extreme anxiety. I just talked with my doctor and he put me on something to help me with it. That is what I would reccomend to you. I tried Buspar and it didn't help me either. I would just explain that to the doctor. That it isn't helping you, and is there something else you can try. Hopefully he/she will listen and put you on something that will ease your anxiety and you will feel better soon. Best of luck to you. Ruth.

Benzo's do seem to be the best meds for severe anxiety. But as others have mentioned, they are addicting and dr's aren't exactley thrilled to prescribe them. I was put on Ativan four years ago, that was by a psych.doc. they help so much. But... now I'm addicted. So you have to weigh all your options. Good luck to you... Taylor
