The best way to take care of this naturally is to eat a high fiber diet or take fiber supplements but these will only work if you drink plenty of water and by plenty I mean at least 64 oz of water per day. Staying well hydrated is important for fiber to do its work. Water is best but juices are ok too. Tea and coffee do not count as fluid replacement because they remove more fluid than they replace.

I'm just wondering since your handle is "sinus" do you have sinus problems that you take medicine for? I have lots of allergies, & I use Allerfed, a generic of Actifed. Within, 30 minutes I have to urinate a lot! This is a continual thing as I have to take it quite often. This can deplete your system of the valuable water needed to have normal stools. If I get too constipated I use with my doctors permission milk of magnesia. One dose of that, & things are back to normal as long as I drink tons of fluids everyday. I eat a bowl of bran flakes in the AM & a bowl of shredded wheat before bedtime to increase the fiber content along with lots of veggies during the day. But as Dzoobaby said, the answer is LOTS of water! Hope this helps...

Hi sinus123,
I take meds that cause me constipation. I do all the right stuff, drink alot of water, eat fruits, vegetables and eat whole wheat bread and still need something to be regular. I take 1 capsule of Docusate sodium 100mg (stool softener) and 1 tablet of Sennosides 8.6mg (helps you keep regular), these are generic names every night before bed. Without them I would be constipated all the time. I have been on these meds since 2007 and am doing fine. Hope this helps you. smileyhappy.

Hi Kabweliza, Have you tried what I take. I only take one tablet of each but you can take 2 if needed. At least it would help you get regular without loose stool. Sometimes I have to take 2 Docusate and that make my stool a little runny but then I go back to 1 tablet each and I go back to normal. Hope this helps! smiley happy.
hi smileyhappy,
thanks a lot i will try what you use but can i just get this over the counter?
Yes, I believe you can. Ask the pharmacist. Good luck! smileyhappy
