I am using this medication as I have radiation proctitis. This is from direct radiation I had when I had prostate cancer. Can anyone tell me if this cream will help me get rid of the proctitis. It has caused a lot of rectal bleeding.

Please see the link below for possible treatment options for Proctitis. Please discuss with your doctor. If the current cream is causing bleeding then it should perhaps be changed.

I haven't found anything to get rid of radiation proctitis. The only thing I know to do are tub soaks and going to bed during the flares with bleeding. I have had the proctitis for approx. 15 months. I have been under a gastroenterologist for the proctitis and he prescribed Bentyl for the muscle spasms. I have worked with my diet but that has not helped either. Please give me some feedback as I am desperate to find any answers.

I have radiation proctitis. The hydrocortisone helped for only a brief period of time. I was bleeding so bad and was finally referred to a gastroenterologist out of town who did the argon laser cooagulation procedure on me along with a sigmoid. I have not had any bleeding since.
