I take 7.5mgs of ritalin Additionally my sleep quality at night is getting terrible. I wake up one-three times a night. After taking my sleeping pills (sonata 20 mgs) nothing happens anymore in terms of falling asleep, except some very frightening hallucinations of the room moving, thinking i see objects and faces that change color, things moving toward me. So I am exhausted in the day and the night and constantly pass out but i cant find a cure since sonata isnt knocking me out but possibly causing hallucinations?
Also I sleep walk amd sleep eat - so I am a bad candidate for Ambien. Any ideas???!!!
I have narcolepsy.I recently have gotten more tired i think due to sonata not working?

Hallucinations are indeed a side effect of sonata and, as you pointed out, the sleep walking and sleep eating would probably make ambien do an even worse number on you. Off hand, I can think of a few other medications you might consult with your doctor about: Lunesta, Rozerem, and Restoril. All are sedatives that we prescribe at my facility for sleep. Good luck.
