of xanax when I take the zanaflex.I have a pain pump and I was wondering if the baclafin added in the pump would help.I am in bad shape and need help bad..thanks.
I have muscle spasms so bad they tare and also tare off of my ribs.I take 1 8mg of zanaflex and 6mg?

I have had 7 back surgeries and have been on every type of drug except Baclafin.What i read on it sounded dangerous.I was on 3 80mg of oxy a day but reading on the Baclafin worries me.I already take enough prescribed drugs to kill someone so I don't want to go over the edge..

Hi sammy jack,
I would recomend you check with your doc about this as prescribing your own meds is never a good idea,and adding extra's to the pump might be dangerous.I understand you must be in an awful ammount of pain but I would check with doc to be safe!!

hi sammy jack, & welcome to the site.! Looks like you have been thru the milll so aas to speak. Am so sorry for all your troubles. I am laeary of you adding baclofen also. I was in the hospital & they tried it on me & I reacted very badly on it. I have another DC friend who is on it & she been crazy sick since she started it & don't think she has realized it could be the baclofen. Puckiemull asked me to step in here & try to help as she kinows I've also been thru the mill! The doctors say it can help some people, I take flexeril personally for the muscle spasms & it does a much better job. Aso are you on any Vitamin C? I have muscle spasms in my legs & feet at night if I don't take at least 2000 mg of Vit C during the day. This is in excess of any your drink with OF etc... Give it a try. On the backlofen, I don't know how to tell you to maybe try just a bit of it & see, but it scares me especially if added to the pain pump.

Thats what the doctors are giving me I dont have to go look for dope they give it to me..I want off its been 5 years i dont want to see another pill at all.

Can you not explain this to your doc,tell them you want off all this?Or is it you need to be on these meds for the pain you are in constantly? If so,i understand you tired of taking pill's but would it not be worse for you if you were off all of them?Would the pain not be worse than the pills?

I had a pain pump inplanted under the skin and it has a cath that goes strait to the spinal fluid and right on the nerves and around the brain.As they increase the pump med they drop the pills because I will only need 1|300th of the amount of what im getting from the pills because it does not have to filter threw my liver(This was also done to keep the liver clean).As far as pain caused from nerve damage it is great as long as I don't move.Well when I walk I have severe muscle spasm.I have taken everything there is for them except the baclafin.I have talked to the doctors about this for 5 YEARS.Baclafin is used mostly on people who have had strokes or MS.(I research any meds I am given and I don't like what I have found on the baclafin)I guess what im asking is there somone who has used it.It will be put in the pump also so there will be no going back.I had 3000 dollars worth of botox in the back and it did not phase the spasms witch the doctors had never seen not work..

Im sick of doctors.This pain Doc im seeing now is in the top 10 in the nation and he travels so much that 1 year I saw him once because he teaches and the PA's i see can't prescribe it.I also have a spinal cord stimulator in witch he help develop so i dare not go to another pain doc.Its up to me but I want more information because it has killed people.

I will take any type of help I can get and thank you.Here in Texas it has gotten so hard for a doctor to give meds out like they use to.But i wanted the pump so I can get were i dont have to take any pills,But I was told it could take a year to get everything just right.So im not very happy over that and it was not told to me untill 4 weeks after the surgery.5 years Dec 37 and 8 prosegers on the back... tired..Thanks for the help...

I too am in Texas and am having a very difficult time getting the meds I need. Soma has always worked well for me but a few months ago my pain mgmt clinic took ALL their patients off this med. Since then I have been in so much pain that most days I haven't even wanted to keep going. Luckily, at a very desperate time I stumbled onto this site. It has been a lifesaver for me! I'm still struggling with the debilitating muscle spasms but have found so much support and really good advice here that I do have hope. Something I DID NOT have before coming here. I'm glad you're here and will try to help you any way I can. Good luck and keep posting. We do care!

they are doing away with the somas because they turn into mophine in the brain is what i was told by tyhe pain doctor.He flushed them on the spot..I was put on zanaflex and it makes somas look like tic tacs.They did wonders on my spasms and they do help with sleep.But the doctors want the baclafin in the pump witch has me on edge.They are tizanaden(zanaflex) My mother in law has used them for 10 years and they work great for her.She also was a soma taker untill they gave her the Zanaflex.They are very strong and some people see things that are not there.It just takes a while for them to build up in your system.Its time for me to move up but worried on new drugs.But can't take the tareing and the ribs pulled out of place.I have a 1000hrs at least studying things about the back.The botox may help you.I was like 1 in 10000 who they did not work on.Don't give up try it all.Im on several list to have studies done,I don't mind being a guinne pig at this point..good luck
