I've been taking Tylenol PM and thinking of switching to Simply Sleep. I try not to take it every day.. but I had a bad night the other night of only 2 hours sleep then had to go to work... I'm just afraid of what is happening to my liver. Going to a sleep center for them to watch me and then say " Gee you have insomnia" is not going to work for me. Any suggestions ??

Simply Sleep and Tylenol PM both contain Diphenhydramine which is an antihistamine with a side effect of sleepiness. Tylenol PM contains acetaminophen of course, which can be hard on the liver in high doses especially if you use alcohol too. Have you tried Melatonin? It may help regulate your sleep cycle. Try all the insomnia tips like being sure to go to bed at the same time everyday, using the bedroom for sleep and sex only, try not to do any stimulating activities prior to bedtime and avoiding caffeine and other stimulants. You might talk to the Dr about some Ambien CR or a similar drug if melatonin doesnt work.
