... going numb. I don't rememeber hurting it in any way. it feels like my should and arm are being ripped apart. Any ideas?

Do you have any rotator cuff problems? This type of pain could be indicative of a torn rotator cuff. An injury you may not even know occured. Do you have trouble lifting you arm over your head ? From my experience with a rotator cuff issuse this sounds like the symptoms I experienced. It probably would not hurt if you made an appointment with your Doctor. After waiting three weeks and it not getting better I would hate to see it get worse for you. Of course it could be just a strain or pulled muscle from something you did and didn't realize at the time just like sometimes you end up with a bruise and don't remember where you could have gotten it.
