Went to an ear nose and throat doctor was checked for vertigo and minears disease but none detected, then had an MRI of head which was normal, meaning no tumors, stroke or seizures. Dizziness is still there and keeping me from work, doctor wants to do VNG test but earliest test available is sometime in December, I have been off work 4 months, I can't keep going like this. I want to ask my doctor to put me on Vontrol, I can't take any of the other meds because of the prostate issues. Has anyone here had any experience with this drug or possibly something else as long as prostate health is not effected.

Hi papasam. How goes it? Ha :-0) Well, I understand your delema, in regards to the prostate. What I'm asking is I know you take a lot of different medications, could it be that theres a possibility that a combination of, these drugs are making you dizzy. Its certainly bothering you enough to have had MRI done, as well as your ears and throat. I was reading up on Vontrol, thats a strong working drug. Say, your doctor were to prescribe it, could you make it at your job. I'll be in and about this mornig, so if you happen to respond to me, and I don't get back to you, its not that I'm being rude. Have a good morning, enjoy it,

Are you taking a statin med for chlorestral control. I got dizzy and started vomiting while walking the dogs. It also affected my legs and kidneys. I still have cramps- your legs feel tired and heavy after a day of being active, you think that it's the heat, that you're getting old-do you have head-aches, urinary problems that you might blame on your prostrate? I tried to jog across a street yesterday with my hounds. I had to windmill to keep from falling. I tried it later, same problem, not to bad. I'm having to teach my legs how to move again. i had trouble with walking-it hit me like a sledge hammer after fasting and prepping for a colonoscopy-I'm one of the lucky ones.
I take simvastin, so yes I am taking a statin med. The doctor had asked me for a number of years if I was having any problems urinating or getting up at night, then late last year, it started hitting me, although I have little to complain about in getting up 1 time per night because many guys are much worse than that, the urinating was difficult, I told the doctor he checked my prostate and found ity enlarged, put me on terazosin and the rest is history.

That is a good question HAHA, Let me explain a bit further. I too did research, last week I asked my doctor to just let me take dramamine and he said no because he didn't want me to end up at the ER for a catheter when I can't pee. He reminded me that I have an enlarged prostate. Well it turns out there are several drugs for vertigo, I punch all of them into my meds one at a time and the only one that came up clean was Vontrol. Yes I do agree it is strong, he may not even hear of it because of that, my argument with the doc is we aren't trying anything right now and I'm the one off work not him, his office is open 4 days a week and packed out.

Now to the meds idea, I have spoken with him on a number of visits about that possibility, he flatly turns me down, one of the possibilities I intend to raise is the terazosin, ah yes the one for enlarged prostate, it has an interaction with 3 of my meds, all of them dizziness ( among other things) I intend to bring it up again, if he doesn't want to try a vertigo med, then lets see if there is a med for enlarged prostate that doesn't interact with my other meds so much. Have a great day pledge, look forward to your response.
Hi again papasam. Bit late but back on site. Well, you mentioned the terazosin, it interacting with three of your medications. As you said, have him if its possible replace the terazosin with another drug thats not going to make you dizzy. I sometimes wonder about how often doctors can seem so... can't think of the proper word. Truth be told, I suppose in some ways, I've been fortunate. Most all of my life, the doctors I've had, be it specialists, gp, psychiatric and so on. One thing that I use, and I'm the most caring individual you might want to meet, but, and heres the but, I'm a customer, and I'm paying you for a service, you work for me. I don't like your service, theres plenty of other doctors out there, itching to get my money. And yes its true. I respect the medical profession and you respect me, as a person and we'll get along fine. Simple, much as my attitude in life. I take what I need and leave the rest.

I apply it daily, to this site, as well as another where I'm active in. It works for me and at the end of the day, thats what counts. Gone on a tad as I might,ha! :-0) hopefully you'll find some answer(s) because its no walk in the park feeling like that, thats a given. See you my friend, have a good afternoon,
spoke with doctor today, he rules out terazosin as cause and his theory is reasonable, I have been on it almost a year, dizziness has only been here a short while. OH well
