For the past 4 months l have gone natural and alternative medication. l do not show any signs that the tumor is growing or is making me sick. My other 5 hormones associated with the pituatary gland are almost normal except the prolactin. After reading the side effects of this drug l am not comfortable taking it. Should l take it?
I have got pitutiary tumor. My prolactin level stand at 34. Should l start taking bromocriptine?

All drugs have side-effects but not everyone experiences them. Unfortunately it is impossible to predict what side-effects will effect you, if any.
At the end of the day you need to way up the benefits of taking bromocriptine against the risks of side-effects. If the benefits out weigh the risks then follow the advice of your doctor and take the medicine.
This is a decision that only you, with the help of your doctor, can make.

The treatment worked for me very very good. My prolactine levels were 388 mgl. I just took 60 pills. I was married for 9 years and never got pregnant. I was taking before Norprolac, and never worked.
I have a new relationship, we wanted this so much that i was afraid i could never had a family.
I took Parlodel (Bromocriptine) first days i was taking 1 pill, then 1 1/2, then to 2 and then to 3 pills. I was felling with nauseas and all that, but i thought it was something with my throat. A week ago I went to the pharmacy and bought a home pregnancy test and went positive, couldnt believe it, so next day i bought another one,and got it positive, but that was not enough, i bought a digital one,and when i saw the YES response i was so happy,nobody in my family believed it, We are so happy.

Never thought that the Bromocriptine was going to work so fast.I thank GOD, this is a blessing for me, my partner and my family. GOD's willing we'll be ok. Just have FAITH Nothing is impossible for GOD!!!
Another thing is that with Bromocriptine i never feel any of the second effects... i always feel good... never a problem.

34 is relatively low for a tumor. I had certain issues on bromocriptine, parlodel, and cabergoline. All caused horrible flashes of light to go off in my head all the time. I eventually had my tumor removed. It came back unfortunately. Now I've found that taking double doses of l-tyrosine supplements have reduced my levels without medication. I did my research and found the right supplements to increase dopamine in the brain w/o the meds. L-tyrosine is the pre-cursor to dopamine. My doctor monitors me on it and I've gone off and on the supplements and my levels rise and fall accordingly over time. So, if you would like to go the non med route due to any reactions with the drugs, or since your levels are so low anyway, that is something you could try with the Dr. and then re-test your levels in 6 weeks to see what it's done. Another option that works similarly is L-dopa. Macuna is a supplement you can mix in smoothies that is full of l-dopa.
