I have Docusate dated 2/2006, is it still active and effective?

Please discard it. It is way too old. Manufacturers do not guarantee the quality or efficacy of medicines past their expiry date.

Simple answer, but certainly the safe answer. I was wondering as I've heard some expired drugs are used as relief in thrid world countries. I'm sure this decision is based on knowledge of the safety and effectiveness of the drug after its marked expiration. Not that I was looking to send it anywhere, but it begged the question for personal use. Thanks, I will discard it.
