I read that mira-lax would clean you out. I'm trying it, but it's not working. Have not had bowel movement yet. Any answers?

yes and if u r desperate, there is a cheap one called Magnesium citrate, works quick, u will go like a goose. If u will increase your water intake, eat more fresh fruit and if possible, walk for exercise, it will help keep that from happening. Suboxone, which i was on, is horrible for stopping ya up. Hot apple juice will help 2, a stool softner will too. when i did use a laxative, phillips caplets were very gentle and no cramps or emergency urgency happened.

My problems with constipation have progressed with the length of time I've been on narcotics - 13 years. Now I am taking a stool softener along with a medication called "Amitiza". When we added that, it helped a lot. I have used the citrate of Magnesia before - that would probably help you. Recently I've discovered a supplement called "Slippery Elm" and this stuff works fantastic! Start off very slow as it doesn't take much.
