I have chronic anemia; the result of taking Anagrelide for Thrombocythemia for the last 20 years. Two months ago my hemoglobin was 7.5 and was hospitalized to receive a blood transfusion; bringing my hemoglobin to 10.5. Since then my hemoglobin is down again to 8.3. It's been suggested to me that I go on a Procrit regimen. I researched Procrit and not happy with the side effects. What else can I do for this condition?
What else other than Procrit can I take for chronic anemia?
