I'm not sure if it does or not. I would imagine your doctor or pharmacist would know. I've never heard of it being used for mood disorders. That's very interesting.
Your right when you say suicide isn't the only cure. It's never a cure!!! I'm sorry that you feel or have felt that it is an option. Do you feel like harming yourself now? Please call your therapist or go to the ER immeditley if you do. There is definetley life after depression and help for mood disorders. The fact that you're still fighting and searching for answers is encouraging and admirable.
Good luck to you.

Hey Brewstercharli,
Oxytocin is only supplied as an injectable solution. There are lots of other medication that will treat Bipolar type 2 disorder. I am Bipolar type 2 and take an antidepressant as well as Abilify with great results. Keep trying, you will find the right combination of meds. Unfortunately it is a trail and error sort of ordeal but there is a solution so don't give up.
Best wishes,
Laurie
Thank you LaurieShay, that was a great answer with so much info. My next trip to the GP will be question time, here in Aust. the doctors don't care for us with too muchinterest and as you well know we need regular follow up with the latest info. I facilitate two bipolar support groups here and i research as much as i can so our members can get the best up-dated info possible. Again thank you so much. Kindest regards, Brewstercharli.

If you don't mind my asking are you a man or a woman? I couldn't find any off label indications for this drug and I'm curious about what it would do to a mans body. Hi Mel, Bruce here. My psychologist was telling me about Oxytocin, that studies have shown good reports with mood matters but after reading the 5pgs of info about it i started to see if it could be bought in pill form. I could only find doses by needle and it was very expensive. Thanks for your concern Mel, take care. Bruce
Thank you for replying. I'm sorry to barrage you with questions when you were the one asking for info in the first place. I just hadn't heard of that use for ocytocin. Thanks again for being patient with me and good luck on you quest for great mental health.
