My son is 28 years old and has been taking Propecia for the past 4 years to prevent hair loss. I am nervous about him taking this new drug. Please advise. Thank you.
I have been told that Avodart is now being used to prevent hair loss in men. Is this true?

Yes, clinical trials as recent as 2009 have been carried out testing the effectiveness of dutasteride (Avodart ) in treating MPHL (male pattern hair loss) It is not yet FDA approved.
