I have been taking Ortho Tri-Cyclen for 2 months and the last week i have had break through bleeding... Its been light, then it will get heavy then light again.. Intercourse has become painful in my uturas.. Should i see my doctor? Or is it just a minor side effect that will pass? I do smoke half a pack a day im only 20 yrs of age what should i do?

Breakthrough bleeding is a common side effect of all birth control pills. It usually settles after a few months of continued use. Unless bleeding is particularly heavy you have no reason for concern.
If intercourse continues to be painful you should see your doctor.
