I have been taking metformin and I have been having constant tummy problems. What would happen if?

Hi,
It's definitely worth asking to switch medications if it's causing pain (though metformin does cause intestinal problems which for some do eventually go away). But as metformin is a diabetic med. to stop could make it hard to control you blood sugars, so if you stop, monitor you sugars really well.
