Kittycats answer is good. Wanted to give you another suggestion that might help. Try splitting your dose up, 2 mgs am and 2 pm. I did that and it helped me, it doesn't help everyone, but it does help some and you could always try just taking a tiny crumb when you feel the anxiety rqmping up, to quell it, that works sometimes. From now on, when you drop, try to see how long it takes you to feel stable at the lower dose and try to just drop by .5 or 1 mg. If you do take a crumb here and there, it won't set you back, you can still try to stay at the lower dose. If you are able to physically do some exercise, it helps you stabilize a bit quicker and tht is what you want, to drop, then stabilize, then drop again. Clonidine rx might help too. Patti

dear KCG2, i hope no one ever thinksi am a health nut, believe me i am NOT. A guy named mpvt, who used to post here all the time, and is a methadone patient told me of this, he was ever so right. I am a smoker and a couch potato, but i did this and it helped ALOT. I had to MAKE myself do it, but i worked, thanks mpvt, wherever you are and thanks KCG2.
Good answer! I'll keep that in mind when I begin to lower my dose again.
It seems like exercise is good for just about anything!
Hey Y'all, mpvt explained why the exercise works. He said our bodies were designed to go, do, make an effort and keep going. The exercise sends a signal to reboot the old natural system the brain once had in place to release its own opiate when it is needed. It keeps sending that reboot signal everytime you exercise and since the brain is similar to a crashed computer at that point, it may take mutliple reboot attempts before it can start that system up. It produces endorphins, those cand actually sit on the same receptor sites the subs, or the signal sit on and they make you feel better mentally and physically, and the exercise helps regulate the eat sleep wake cycles that are disrupted when we are in WD or trying to taper down on subs. Mpvt used that walking to taper down from 400 mgs or methadone down to his maintenance dose of just over 100. His logic was very sound and any answer i ever read from him was right, so, i trusted his logic.

It did help me, so i am passing that info onto you guys. Start slow with the exercise so you won't get sore and quit and don't over do it. It doesn't work overnight, but it does work. If you can't physically exercise, don't attempt to just start exercising. Ask your dr for advice if you are injured and can't exercise. Patti
