I don't think 50mcg is high. I started at that and needed to be on 88mcg for my numbers to improve. Also, my endocrinologist told me that the dose we take each day has a 'half life', meaning, that if you forget to take a pill one day, your body is still working on the previous dose for 12 more hours. I would ask your doc what is best to do if you miss a pill. I suspect he/she would suggest you start taking the dose the day after your skipped day. It's always best to ask your doc. My first doc wanted me to take my pill first thing in morning, my new doc allows me to take it before bed, which I prefer and which she felt was even more advantageous to the body absorbing it.

Thanks Jovanna. I was just wondering because my dose has stayed steady. My dr told me to take it first thing in the morning. I will ask my doc about missing a pill.
Good luck. If you remember to take the pill easier at night before bed, it might be a good solution. For me, the morning was hard b/c I need my coffee IMMEDIATELY upon awaking--to wait 30 mins to an hour b/4 eating or drinking anything, was pure torture for me. If this is you too, I'd ask about it.
