blood pressure. After taking for 1 wk., developed severe chest pain suddenly. Have since discontinued & gone back to the original generic but the pain has not gone away. Have had to keep Nitrostat with me. Saw that severe chest pain is one of many side effects. Has this caused permanent damaged? Have recently gone thru stress test & imaging. Do not know results yet.
I have been on generic amlodipine/benazepril 5-20mg for yrs. Was changed to Lotrel 5-40mg to lower?

I have seen my Dr. and have had imaging & stress tests. Was told tests were OK. Am now getting appointment with a Cardiologist. Was really wanting to know if the Lotrel caused this and if reversible.
Hi, chest tightness/pain is one of the top listed severe side effects of Lotrel, so it is likely that is the reason for your symptoms. It is reversible though and if caught early and your medication is changed you should be fine
