... long term use of this drug and what would be an alternative to this method of treatment?Allergy could be to changes in temperature (even through the day) dust/pollen. It had resulted in acute sinusitis and among other drugs i was prescribed this one. I finished with the anti biotics but continue to take this whenever i have an attack or at night before i go to bed

Just take a plain antihistamine such as cetirizine ... avoid long term use of decongestants such as phenylpropanolamine.
