Can I use the LOPROX for that or what do you recommend? Any over the counter stuff that is appropriate?

Loprox (ciclopirox) is an antifungal medication. It prevents fungus from growing.
Ciclopirox topical cream and lotion formulations are used to treat skin infections such as athlete's foot, jock itch, ringworm, and yeast infections.

It is best your see your doctor, just to be certain what sort of irritation this could be. If it is due to a fungal infection then it would be okay to use Loprox but if it was an irritation caused due to something else then Loprox won't help and the irritation might get worse.
