How do macrobid and amantadine work for recurring bladder infections?

I have a cronic condition and am on macrobid low dose once a day, recently my doctor put me on amantadine do both drugs work for preventing bladder infections. [ presribed by two different doctors ] macrobid for reacouring bladder infections , Amantadine for cronic futigue I take this drug 3 times a day.

I have been having Chronic UTI's for 3 years. My doctor put me on macrobid 100mg for preventative. It worked for about 2 months and then i got a UTI but it was a bacteria that macrobid didnt work for and i had to go on Cipro. But I have spoke to other women that the macrobid works as a preventative.

Amantadine only helps with the chronic fatigue. It will not help the infection.
Macrobid is the preventative antibiotic. It will help stop you from developing a bladder infection.
