... nurse at my local hospital and she said I could take both cyclobenzaprine and Hydrocodone-Acetaminophen and still breastfeed. The pediatricians nurses say the Dr. office goes by the same nurses oppinion. I still can't decide wether to stop breastfeeding so I can get better with the aid of meds or to listen to the lactation nurse and not worry and keep breastfeeding. I don't know what to do

I've been in your position before and had to take narcotic pain meds for kidney stones while breastfeeding. I too got the OK from my doctor. I also consulted our peditrician and got the OK there too. I was told that a miniscule amount of the med is excreted through the breastmilk and that is safe for baby. As with anytime I take a med. I took the least amount that was still effective. This has to be your decision though. Whether you keep breastfeeding or decide to go the formula route your baby will be fine and willl surley benefit from such a loving and concerned mommy.
