I had been on Activella for about 8 months. This month, with new prescription coverage, they sent me the generic from Breckenridge Pharmaceutical - Estradiol/Norethindrone Acetate Tablets. I have had a couple hot flashes, nothing big at all, but I'm a bit anxious, cranky and weepy. Does anyone know if there's trouble with the generic for Activella?
has anyone had problems with the generic Activella ?

Most generics are a pretty good equivalent to the brand name, that being said, however, there are a few drugs that when you start on a brand name, you shouldn't be switched to a generic and hormones are one of those. At least that is what I was taught. Hormones, anticonvulsants and some others are some that you should stick with the brand name. Ask your Dr about it. It may be that he might need to appeal to the insurance company for this being medically necessary that you stay on brand name. You may end up paying more but it may be worth it.
