Hi, I feel for you about trying to make a decision as to weather to take the medication the doctor has suggested for you to take. From a person who suffers from daily Migraines and has tried many medications, the only drug that helped was DHE and Metoprolol, this is taken as a preventative medication and does take a little while to help but seems to be helping. But taking steroids I don't blame you not being excited about taking this, I have MS and I blew up like a balloon for the first time and I am going to be scared to have this medication again. But Steroids are really good but just like any drug each person is different, and will react in a different way person to person. So when you try this or another medication you might be fine and it works wonders, but another person might react so different to it. I am not sure if this really helps you, but I wish you luck in finding something that works. Liz.

mtheaded, do you possibley have allergies or dose the doctor you are seeing suspect you have allergies as this is what this medication is for, & head aches are a smaller side effect not the biggest. Not all people would have a headaches from it infact most won't. I have not heard of it prescribed for a cluster headaches before is why I ask about allergies. I do know that they suspect allergies with migraine headache, but not with cluster. Could you explain more why this was prescribed...
H\ave never been told I had allergies before. Was diagnosed 10+ years ago with cluster migraines. Told him this. Maybe doesn't believe me or has other thoughts. The aggravating part is, NO headache med was prescribed. Tells me if I keep getting them for the next 4 days come back and see my Primary Dr and if they are real bad go to ER... errrrrrr cant see when they are bad so no driving... oh call 911 GR8. Some DRs and ins AMAZE ME... going to try it though... hopefully I will be AMAZED (positively this time)

This is not a steroid that produces systemic results like anabolic steroids. You're thinking of something like what happens to body builders with injectables. This just reduces inflammation in your nose. It's like putting cortisone cream on a rash.
