... My doctor gave me one month of Bontril slow release capsules. In that same month I was told I had Amphetamines in my urine from the methadone clinic I attend. Is this possible for the bontril to metabolize as amphetamine of some sort? I am proud of my years sober and ready to raise hell for this judgement.
I get tested for illegal drug use (which I've been clean from for 11 years) my doctor perscribed?

Hey bigjim,
Yes, it is very possible that the Bontril is what caused the positive result for amphetamines as Bontril is very similar to amphetamines and is an amine itself. To read more about this go to:

I would let the clinic know you have a legit script for the Bontril and that it is what caused the positive result.

Thank you all very much for your help. I figured that it had to be it. Though the "doctors" at most clinics are the "ALL KNOWING NEVER WRONG" top dog of these places. But I will get a confirmation from the lab that does the test and that should do the trick. Thanks again!
