I began taking Xalatan Nov. 2010 with no adverse reactions. In Mid May 2011 my Dr. switched me to... the generic (Latanoprost). Three weeks ago I began getting ringing in my ears (Tinnitus).

Tinnitus is not a reported side effect of Xalatan / Latanoprost.
Have you talked with your doctor?

Thanks for the response. Yes, I have seen my internist, inspected my ears, throat, etc. Found no visible problems with the ears or other evidence of infection in the area, and no history of issues with that area. I have had no head colds, ear infections, etc. He put me on a regiment of one 25mg hydrochlorothiazide per day for two weeks. If no improvement, I go back. I'm a week in and, so far, no improvement. Of course, the problem is we have no indication of what is causing the tinnitus. The only prescription med I use is xalatan/latanoprost, so that prompted the question. Also, no regular use of OTC's like aspirin.
