Every night for 3 years now. 50 to 100mgm I will not fall asleep. About 1-1/2 hours I take 3 mgm of Klonopin sub lingual. I usually fall asleep with in 20 to 30 minutes. I am afraid that the Anticholinergic effect along with the Wellbutrin is dangerous. I am Bipolar if I don't get to sleep I will have racing thoughts all night. Dave Cass

Hi Dave, Wow, you are on way too much benadryl my friend. The maximum dose is 50mg for sleep, & it interreacts with Wellbutrin, I am going to give you that site to read, & will give you the other in the comment section right below this answer. Please reduce your dose. As you will see the interreaction can cause you to to actually stay awake. Hope this helps... Mary

Dave, here is the other site I want you to read. Please be careful. I think you have an A type personality is why you can't shut down your brain at night. I am that way too, & have to take xanax to get me to sleep. You know I wish you the best... Mary

Thank you for the links on Diphenydramine. I know I was over using it. I have increased my dose o 230mgm over 3 years - you link was so helpful, I did not know it would have such effect on the wellbutrin. Last night I did 4. Your link also says that a dose over 100mgm is more effective for sleep, any thing higher can cause a lot of problems, even being unable to sleep. As usual you came through once again, what would I do with out you, and all the other people here.
