I am taking 150 mg of nuvigil for extreme tiredness from sleep apnea. I works like a miracle pill but I am worried about it being habit forming and having to increase it as time goes on. Does anyone else have this concern?

I use Nuvigil's older sister drug, Provigil. I've been taking it since 2004. They are very much the same. Provigil can be said to be habit forming, but NOT Addictive. What happens is if I use it daily then when I don't take it I feel twice as tired, and that can last one week. But there are no withdrawal type symptoms. No cravings for the drug. The obvious solution is to not use it daily. Just when I really need it. I have also not found it builds a tolerance like amphetamines do. In fact taking more than 200 mg in a 8 hour period makes me more sleepy.
I say just don't take Nuvigil daily and you'll be alright.
