You need to start counseling imediatly for your panic attacks. I have suffered with panic and anexity attacks for almost 8 years now. I've taken Xanax on a daily bases now for about 7 years.I started counseling about 8 months ago and I have learned to control my thoughts and feelings and now I only have to take the Xanax when i REALLY need it which is not very often now that I know how to control the thoughts and feelings. Good Luck!!!!!!!!!
I used xanax, valium, klonopin, all benzos for over 25 years. I don't know how long you've taken klonopin or the amount but you DON'T want to stop them abruptly. You will develop a dependency to them in a very short time.
You should do a VERY slow taper down and off. Benzo detox can be dangerous if done the wrong way. You can experience horrid dreams, electric shock syndrome, seizures and all kinds of ugly side effects. It's no fun at all. Benzo detox was much tougher for me than opiate detox.
I always recommend taking an anti-seizure medication such as dilantin or depakote while going through benzo detox. Seizures are a definite possibility and taking these meds are a good idea to prevent this from happening. Hope that helps.
