I am really struggling with bulimia, it's very severe. I feel extremely hopeless, I was prescribed?

Studies have shown that weight gain occurs in about 1% of patients taking Prozac - which is not as common as we are lead to believe.
If you are noticing weight gain with Prozac, talk to your healthcare provider.

Hi there,
From my own experience,i was on prozac in the past and had no weight gain.
If you feel you are gaining weight while on this med,go back to your doc and he/she will find an alternative. I myself found prozac to be beneficial in al aspects but again everyone is different. Give it a try anyway and see how you get on! You wont know til you give it a shot.

I had bulimia for 10 years and Prozac did the trick to stop it and I didn't gain weight. What you do need to be aware of is that when you are no longer purging, you will then need to eat a health diet because the food now stays in your body. Try and find a health sustainable way of eating like the low GI way of eating. Being a bulimic is like living in hell and you feel you will never get out but I managed it and I hope you do too.
