barbles2413... pain I was on Percocet 10/325mg q 4-6 prn for many years and did not want to continue because of too much tylenol I find the morphine Imm is not as effective the Dr suggested maybe uping the Avinza to 120mg. Do you think that be of more benefit and maybe help me not to need as much breakthrough meds
I am on Avinza 90mg for RSD/CRPS as well as Morphine Sulphate 15mg IMM q 4-6 hr prn breakthrough?

the whole point of sustained release opiates is so that you don't have to pop pills every 3 hrs. So yes I would definately make the jumpto 120mgs of Avinza. When you take the quick acting opiates like percocet(oxycodone), statex (morphine),dilaudid (hydromorphone) are all meant to be taking for acute pain. Otherwise your tolerence goes through the roof. Thats why you are much better off on a sustained release opiate like Avinza. Also you shouldn't worry to much as 120mjgs is not a lot of morphine so take care of your pain first and live as normal a life as u can... Dave
