I feel very irritable and REALLY depressed in the mornings. But eventually in the late evenings it goes away. It gives me a headache as well. Also, it makes me so depressed I plan on cutting myself =(
I am currently taking Mirtazapine (Remeron) and have 'hangover' like symptons when I wake up. Why?

Hey svenblack,
You maybe experiencing serious side effects of the remeron and need to discuss these with the doctor as soon as possible. If you are wanting to cut then you need to address this without delay. Without knowing your complete history, hard to say whether the depression is from the remeron or not, but again your doctor is the one who needs to evaluate. Please seek medical attention right away.
Best wishes,
Laurie

Hey Laurie, Thanks ALOT for answering. I'm new to this site. But what you said was helpful. Thanks for taking the time to help me out. I've struggled with depression for 3-4 years now. And am just now getting medical help. Before that, I self medicated with weed. I'm finding out now the hard way that weed is just hurting me in the long run. So i'm quitting, and trying to get help for my anxiety (caused from the weed) and depression the right way. I don't want to be a 'pot-head' for the rest of my life.
Thanks again,
Sven
I understand. I use to self medicate with weed also. Once I stopped and got on the correct meds, my anxiety and depression lifted and I no longer wanted to hurt myself. Please let your doctor know what is going on. There are many many different antidepressants that also help anxiety to try, so if the remeron doesn't agree with you don't despair.
