indicated that this is not a recomened dosage. Do you agree and why is it not. If I take 300ml will it protect me for 24 hours or will it wane aftre 10 to 15 hrs? I am 67 and the Doctor has added Hyptrocloside? The 150ml controls my blood pressure for most of the day but later in the evenings it does go up somewhat !
I am currently on 150ML of avapro daily and my doctor changed to 150ml twice a day. The Pharm D?

Avapro is in a group of drugs called angiotensin II receptor antagonists. It keeps blood vessels from narrowing, which lowers blood pressure and improves blood flow. It works by decreasing the levels of certain chemicals in the body.
Avapro is used to treat high blood pressure. It is sometimes given together with other blood pressure medications.
The recommended initial dose of AVAPRO (irbesartan) is 150 mg once daily. Patients requiring further reduction in blood pressure should be titrated to 300 mg once daily.
A low dose of a diuretic may be added, if blood pressure is not controlled by AVAPRO alone. Hydrochlorothiazide has been shown to have an additive effect (see CLINICAL PHARMACOLOGY: Clinical Studies). Patients not adequately treated by the maximum dose of 300 mg once daily are unlikely to derive additional benefit from a higher dose or twice-daily dosing.
So a dose of Avapro 300mg per day is fine.
