I am an Asian-Mediterranean female with yellowish-beige skin. Wheneve I use Retin-A, my skin color?

Continuing with my question: Whenever I use Retin-A, my skin color changes to browish shade which is much darker than my normal complextion. Does Retin-A react differently on Asian skin?
