Welcome to the site alittle. I am worried that you haven't been proberly diagnosed before just taking pain meds. Are you male, or female first of all. There are so many things that could cause this pain, & am sure you have been put thru the mill with tests etc,,, but would like to know a bit more about this pain. Is it your back, female parts, origin unknown etc... Get my drift? Maybe someone on here could help where you don't even have to go on pain meds at all. You'd be surprised at the life experience of the people on here, & we have a few professionals too. Could you please eludicate some more. Hate to see any one start a life of pain meds where I am at for the rest of my life. Just my thoughts... Mary632009

Starting pain management is an important, time consuming and often frustrating experience. Ask your Primary Care Physician (PCP) to refer you to a pain Doctor. Don't use pot for at least 10 days and don't drink for 3 days before your 1st pain appointment. More than likely you'll be tested for illegal drugs and alcohol level. You'll be asked to sign a Narcotic Pain Agreement Visit startingpainmanagement.com and livinginpain.org (up on Feb 12) for more starting pain management information. Don't give up if the 1st pain Doctor doesn't help you. Ask your PCP for a 2nd referral. Good luck and I hope you can control your pain.
