I am a first timer. it will be my first time to take yasmin pills, it would be fine if I will take?

I don't agree. I worked in a family planning clinic (I an an RN) advising women how to use the pill and other forms of birth control and we ALWAYS had women start either the day menses start or the first Sunday following start. The reason for this is if a woman has been impregnated during the past weeks since her last period the examinig healthcare professional is totally unable to tell if a woman is pregnant! You DO NOT want to start the pill if you are pregnant. I know this to be a fact, as you can read above, I was approximately 2 weeks pregnant at my exam with my youngest. The Dr examining me was unable to tell on examination. It is too early to see changes in the cervix or palpate the embryo in the womb-it is no more than a tiny ball of cells at this point. If you start the pill and you are pregnant you risk fetal abnormalities.

I know people do get pregnant on the pill and their child is fine but do you really want to risk it? Birth control pills are a Category X in pregnancy! Which means that there is evidence of fetal harm when the mother is taking these meds during pregnancy. It is advisable to not take ANY meds during the first trimester unless the mother is at risk for her life without the drug. The first trimester and third trimester are when the fetus is most vulnerable to damage from maternal use of drugs. So in consideration of this Suzanne66, I respectfully disagree with your answer.
