I also have fibromyalgia. My doctor wants me to go on Lupron depot immediately or get pregnant. Pregnancy most likely not going to happen. I am scared to do hormone therapy. I have been on birth controls in past and hated the side effects. I want to try natural therapy first but scared it wont work and i'll need surgery again. I don't want a hysterectomy? Any thoughts or help? Anyone else been through this? thx!!
I am 30 yrs old, childless & just been diagnosed with extreme endometriosis, anyone else out there?

Hi fibroendo,
I too suffer from endo,i've had the surgery and been on the b/c pills and nothin to gain so far,my gynecologist put me on hormone therapy6weeks ago,it's a 12 week injection,i thought the endo was bad before hand but this injection has made me so much worse! I know alot of people might benefit from these hormone injections but i am been honest in telling you it was the worst desicion i made. That is my experience with it,i would'nt want anyone going through what i am at the moment. The gyne told me at the time it would ease my pain and i'd suffer mild hot flushes, but i have extreme pain, lots of hot flushes and bad sickness! Its your desicion what you want to do,but i would try anything else and leave this as a last resort..
Hope you find some relief soon.
Take care my friend

I've never tried lupron, but have heard horrible things about it, not to mention that it doesn't even help with the pain! Plus some insurance won't cover it, and it is extremely expensive! Did you just have surgery to clean up the endo? If so, I'd recommend trying to get pregnant now, if that's what you want. Your chances of conception are much better right after surgery!
Yeah I think thats why my doc is pressuring get pregnant now but that is something I dont want to be pressured into! Yes it might help but I have a cousin thats had 2 babies with same issue and she is still fighting the pain and has had several surgeries. thx!
My pain also continued after I had my child. But it's not necessarily a question of pain, but infertility. Unfortunately with endo, the younger the better! This disease just stinks! I am still dealing with it after multiple surgeries, including a complete hysterectomy! Birth control pills also help suppress endo, especially when you take it continuously without periods.

Thanks for your response. I just went to doctor to discuss it today and he told me I would have hot flashes and all other side affects would be mild. I told him I still want to think about. Thinking I may go the natural herbal way first.
You may not suffer the side effects as bad as i am,i got the decapeptyl injection which i was told was stronger than the lupron(that i am not 100% sure of) I hate to hear of anyone in pain but if i had my time back i would stick the pain rather than these side effects, again we are all different, you may well benefit from the injection, there is no saying it might suit you fine, sorry i cant be of more help, just think strongly before making any desicions either way!!
I appreciate your help. I've had problems with low dose birth control so not sure how I would respond. He offered to let me try a 1 mth dose so debating that. I'm on my second period since laproscopy and last period was painful and starting to have pain with this one but not as severe as before but scaring me as to how fast this stuff will grow back. I had 2 huge cysts on my ovary so that was messing my system up. Please post more experiences anyone that is going through this and what treatments are helping. Thx!!
I do hope you find relief soon,i had periods after the lap and they were very painful also,to be honest i think i'm worse since surgery, but thats just me..
I understand how frustrating it is and how much you want somethin to ease the pain,
Would you consider getting the mirena to stop your periods? At least with that-if its not working for you or agreeing with you,you can always take it out??
Did your doc suggest that?
Hello Fibroendo...
I to had just Endo several yrs ago, but was after I had 3 children and had to have a hystorectomy.
But now my daughter, 22 yrs of age is suffering from endo, and cervical HPV cancer. She is having the hormone shots of Lupron, and it is horrible what I am having to watch her go through every month. The pain she is in and the side effects are even harder on her and her body. She was blessed with one daughter who will be 3 next month. She was told the same, get pregnant, do the therapy or hystorectomy... These are not words a young woman of her age wants to hear.
Before it is time for her next shot, which is about 3 weeks, she feels like she has fibormyalgia, and osteo at the same time... which is very hard for her to climb out of bed on work days and to even play with her daughter.
So please be care of your decision... I wish you the best as well as prayers for you and your family.
Sincerely, Brenda
Hi Brenda,
As you prob read from my above response,i too have endo,i am25,
I can relate to how your daughter is suffering,it is such a horrible condition/disease(whatever you want to call it).
I definitley dont want to even think about hysterectomy never mind consider it,for some women they suffer once a month with endo pain and thats unbearable,i am now suffering on-going everyday since havin laser treatment and the hormone shots,i have another2weeks left on the shot decapeptyl, and thats it for me,i'm not putting my body or mind through the hell i've been going through these past 12weeks. Pain is one thing but the hot flushes and feeling like your going crazy tops it all.I just want my body back to normal-(whatever that is)Had my gyne app last week and he put me on HRT patches for my hormones, said my body was going through that of a 60 yr old,so much to take in and i dont think the docs understand at all!
