Atenolol and Nifedipine can be used together to treat high blood pressure. Although they both reduce blood pressure they work differently, and by using lower doses of both you are less likely to experience side effects related to a particular medicine.
Atenolol is in a group of drugs called beta-blockers. Beta-blockers affect the heart and circulation (blood flow through arteries and veins).
Nifedipine is in a class of drugs called calcium channel blockers. It relaxes (widens) your blood vessels (veins and arteries), which makes it easier for the heart to pump and reduces its workload.

(P.S. I think you might be taking 25mg of Atenolol).
