I have a friend who has been prescribed 50mg nucynta. She also takes 10mg loretab, 60mg morphine or ms contin, 50mg tramadol, 5mg oxycodone. I cant even list all her health problems, but she been seeing same doctor for 10 or more years. He is obviously going to do some changing around things for her. So, how would the nucynta compare to anything else in strength that she is taking?

Nucynta is Tramadol's bigger brother. It reacts with opioid receptors, as well as having SSRI antidepressant + anti inflammatory properties. It modulates pain more than giving a "high" or buzz. Supposedly it's "safer", which is not true.. It carries risks of seizure and seratonin syndrome. "Safer" just means it is harder to abuse, and opiate addicts with tolerances cannot get a "high" from it.
I have taken both tramadol and Nucynta for spinal and lumbar pain.. These are new drugs, and should be taken with caution, the list of side effects is 30x longer than that of a true opiate. Withdrawals are worse than opi withdrawals.
Big pharma and the DEA don't mind if you seize, just as long as your pain meds don't make you feel high. Thanks war on citize... er drugs.
If your girl is on 60mg of morphine, she won't even feel a nucynta.
