How many treatment cycles does a patient normally receive? How do you know if the drug is working?

There are two regimens for Dacogen administration. With either regimen it is recommended that patients be treated for a minimum of 4 cycles; however, a complete or partial response may take longer than 4 cycles.
You may be given other medications to help prevent nausea and vomiting while you are being treated with Dacogen.
You will need to be assessed to see if the drug is working - blood tests, Kidney and liver function tests, bone marrow aspirates etc.
