You arent supposed to do it this way but you can cut it up or chew it up so that the small pieces will dissolve much faster than the one large piece. But make sure you are aware that it will no longer be timed release the way it was made originally. So if you are used to having a 60mg pill every 12 hours, thats only 5mg an hour and if you were to chew or cut up that same 60mg pill. It would be 60mg almost all at once. So its very easy to overdose. You shouldnt do this unless you are on a very low dose of Oxy or you have a major tolerance to Oxy and can take large doses of immediate release Oxy. Please be safe with this information. Its meant to help people with severe pain, not help people abuse their meds

You'd also be looking at a hefty dental bill when you crack your teeth trying to chew on them. If the oxy's (OP) aren't working for you, could you ask the doc for the instant release form? Or maybe a different extended release med all together?
Be safe.
