I recently read that thiazide type diuretics can interact with calcium carbonate and vitamin D supplements, thus increasing the risks of hypercalcemia and hypercalciuria. The recommended amt of calcium for a 47 yr old (my age) is 1,000. Is this okay to take?
How much daily calcium/vitD supplement should I take with a thiazide diuretic (IsoptinSR 240)?

I would take a reduced dose of calcium. Please discuss dose with your doctor or you could also request a serum calcium level to be done as well. Same with Vitamin D.
Please see link below for interaction and monitoring in detail.
